The ideal planting distance for clematis varies depending on the species: Alpine clematis (Clematis alpina) requires 50-80 cm, Italian clematis (Clematis viticella) 60-100 cm, mountain clematis (Clematis montana) 100-150 cm and common clematis (Clematis vitalba) 200-400 cm.2-3 specimens can be planted in the pot at a distance of 30-35 cm.
