Which location is optimal for a magnificent candle?
The ideal location for a magnificent candle (Gaura lindheimeri) should meet the following conditions: full sun, protected from the wind, nutrient-rich and loose substrate and even moisture without waterlogging. A south-facing house wall offers additional protection and warmth.
Substrate, sunlight and wintering
The magnificent candle is often described as hardy, but in fact it can only be overwintered outdoors in very mild locations with winter protection. Culture in a pot (€75.00 on Amazon) and overwintering in a bright, frost-free room are usually more promising. The magnificent candle grows extremely lush and rich in flowers in a full sunny location, even with little care. The location should, if possible, meet the following factors:

Tip
The magnificent candle thrives particularly well in protected, warm locations next to a south-facing house wall. After flowering, cut back to just above the ground in autumn to encourage the formation of overwintering buds.
