The sprouts of red clover are an integral part of natural cuisine. They contain many he althy nutrients and go well with salads and soups because of their mild taste. Growing in the germination device is extremely easy. This is how you grow red clover sprouts yourself.
How to grow red clover sprouts?
To grow red clover sprouts yourself, buy special seeds, soak them and sow them in a germination device or cress sieve. Water the seeds twice a day and harvest the sprouts after 6-8 days. Enjoy them raw in salads, soups or on bread.
Buy the right germination seeds
Red clover seeds are available in two different varieties. Firstly, there are seeds for large-scale cultivation, for example for red clover propagation or green manure. These seeds are not suitable for sprouts.

If you have red clover in your garden, you can try getting seeds. However, the seeds are not always of the same variety and can therefore only be used to a limited extent for growing sprouts.
The sprouts of red clover are so he althy
The sprouts are high in protein and are therefore well suited to diets. They also contain tannins, vitamins A and E as well as minerals and trace elements.
Sensitive people should not consume large quantities of sprouts. Red clover can cause digestive disorders such as diarrhea. Allergies occasionally occur.
Sowing seeds for sprouts
It is best to use a germination device to germinate the sprouts. Cultivation also works in the cress sieve. When sowing red clover in germination jars, there is a risk that the seedlings will rot prematurely.

Use red clover sprouts
Once the red clover sprouts are tall enough, cut them off with vegetable scissors. Use them as fresh as possible and, above all, raw. When cooking, too many of the valuable ingredients are lost.
Enjoy the sprouts directly on the buttered bread. You can also use it to refine salads and vegetable soups. If you want to serve sprouts in vegetable dishes, add them shortly before the end of the cooking time and, if possible, do not let them cook.
Tip
Red clover is grown on a large scale to feed livestock. The plant is also sown in fields as green manure. This is not advisable in the garden as the plants are difficult to remove.
