How can I optimally fertilize my pear tree?
To properly fertilize a pear tree, you should work mature compost or manure into the soil, apply a mulch of leaves or straw and, if necessary, supplement with a mixture of grass clippings, leaves and herbs. Nitrogen-containing fertilizers should be used in moderation.
Fertilizing the pear tree after planting
Although the pear tree in the garden needs sufficient nutrients, you shouldn't overdo it. Nitrogen-rich fertilizers in particular should only be given in moderation.
When planting the pear tree, improve the soil in the planting hole with mature compost or well-rotted stable soil. This fertilization lasts for the first few years.
