Horned violets bloom happily in a sunny to partially shaded location. Rock gardens, dry stone walls, herbaceous beds, areas under trees and pathsides appear to be well suited for them. Horned violets also grow easily in pots or balcony boxes. Primroses, zinnias, chrysanthemums and asters are ideal as plant neighbors.
What should the soil be like?
Horn violets in pots or balcony boxes do not need any special soil. For them, conventional potting soil or standard soil is sufficient. On the other hand, for horned violets in the open field, you should pay attention to the following characteristics of the soil:

- evenly moist
- humos
- nutrient-rich
