Roses are very easy to preserve. There are various methods for this, of which growing is one of the quickest ways - you need a few weeks to dry roses.
How to preserve roses by growing them?
To preserve roses by growing them, you need wax granules or leftover candles, a heat-resistant container and roses. Melt the wax in a water bath, carefully dip the rose petals into it, allow excess wax to drip off and dry the petals.
A wax flower bouquet lasts forever
If you're in a hurry, you can briefly dip the roses you want to preserve in wax and finally arrange the waxed flowers into a beautiful bouquet. Unfortunately, other flowers are not suitable for this type of preservation because they are too delicate.
What you need to grow roses
To grow roses, you will of course need roses (either individual stems or a whole bouquet) as well as either some leftover candles or wax granules (€36.00 on Amazon) (available in craft stores), which are used to make Candles are used. Depending on your taste, you can use colorless or colored wax. You will also need an old pot or other heat-resistant container.
Roses grow step by step
The first step is to fill the heat-resistant container (cans are great for this purpose) with the wax and place it in a pot of hot water. Melt the wax in a water bath until it is liquid enough to dip a rose into. The temperature of the wax should not be more than 60 °C, otherwise the flowers will turn brown. Dip the flower head into the liquid wax and gently swirl it back and forth. Allow excess wax to drip off and then dry the flower head.
Preserving roses with glycerin
Another, also very promising method of preserving roses can be carried out with the help of glycerin. However, you will need more than just a few minutes to do this, as the glycerin takes a few days or even weeks to penetrate the last pore of the rose. Place the fresh roses in a vase with fresh, lukewarm water. You have added liquid glycerin to this, which the rose ultimately absorbs along with the water. The rose is fully preserved when small droplets of glycerin emerge from the flowers.
Tip
If you're in a hurry, you can also dry roses in the microwave. Place the flowers on kitchen paper and cover them with it too. Now switch on the microwave and check about every 30 seconds whether the rose has dried completely.
