When is the golden shower blooming time?
The laburnum blooms in golden-yellow, curtain-like clusters and is an important food source for bees and butterflies. The flowering time varies depending on the species: the common laburnum and the noble laburnum bloom from mid/late May to the end of June, while the alpine laburnum is a little later.
The laburnum flower – beautiful and useful
The flowers that the laburnum forms are typical butterfly flowers in hanging clusters. They are very rich, both in their number, as well as in their scent and pollen supply. They are therefore also a valuable pasture for beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies - the laburnum is therefore not only suitable as a decorative ornamental plant, but also as a natural improver of the garden biotope.
The heyday
When the laburnum delights you with its splendor of flowers depends, on the one hand, on the type of laburnum and, on the other hand, on the age of the specimen. The common laburnum and the noble laburnum bloom from around mid/late May to the end of June, the alpine laburnum is a little later. A young laburnum needs a few years to establish itself in the garden before it shows its first flowers. Likewise, older specimens may at some point run out of juice for the complex flowering.
