The money tree is considered a symbol of we alth and prosperity. It is therefore often used for interior design with Feng Shui, even though it is not necessarily suitable for most designated places in the house. Whether the money tree actually ensures harmony and balance is more of a matter of belief.
Where to place a money tree in Feng Shui?
In Feng Shui, the money tree is placed in the left area of the apartment as a symbol of we alth and prosperity. However, the plant requires a lot of light and is best suited to the flower window where it can receive direct sunlight.
The money tree as a yin character
Because of its rather round shape and, above all, the penny-like shape of the leaves, the money tree corresponds to the metal transformation phase in Feng Shui philosophy. He is one of the Yin characters. This makes it an ideal plant for the bedroom as part of a Feng Shui interior design. However, the money tree is less suitable for rooms in which the Yang character is desired.
However, the temperatures in the bedroom are usually too low for penny trees. During the growth phase, the money tree prefers a warm 20 to 27 degrees. In winter he wants to be kept cooler. Here the temperatures should be around 11 degrees. However, this is usually too cold for bedrooms.
Location in the living area
The money tree feels more comfortable in the living area because it is warm and usually brighter here. According to Feng Shui teachings, the left area of the apartment is the place for we alth and abundance. So it makes sense to place a money tree there.
However, since the money tree likes it very bright, you cannot simply place it anywhere in the room - unless you install special plant lamps (€89.00 on Amazon) that provide sufficient light.
The best location for a money tree is the flower window, where it likes to get direct sun. In summer, the houseplant would prefer to move to the balcony or terrace. The resulting change in temperature stimulates the flowering of the money tree.

Even though the effect of money trees on the living environment cannot be proven in Feng Shui philosophy, it has been proven that money trees help purify the air. They filter pollutants from the air using their thick leaves and also increase the humidity.
