Seeing camellias in full bloom in your own garden is not that easy. Because these plants are easy to care for, have high demands on their location and react quite sensitively to a wide variety of disruptive factors.
Why are my camellia flowers falling off?
Camellia flowers can fall off after bud formation due to lack of water, low humidity, warm heating air or changes in location. To save the flower, countermeasures should be taken quickly, such as improving humidity or restoring water supply.
The premature shedding of buds and/or flowers can have several different reasons. Some of these are related to location, while others are related to care. The camellia does not tolerate warm heating air or low humidity. It is therefore extremely unsuitable as a plant for your living room. Lack of water and a change of location during or after bud formation are also possible causes.
Possible reasons for falling flowers:
- Lack of water due to insufficient humidity or incorrect watering
- heating air too warm
- Change location after bud formation
Tip
If the first flowers fall off, react immediately. Maybe you can still save the flowers for the current season.
