It wouldn't be fair to try to classify chaste pepper varieties according to beauty. The only question is which color we like in their flowers. A large garden can focus on colorfulness and accommodate several varieties at once. Otherwise, you will have to make a decision with a heavy heart between white, pink, purple, red and blue.
Which chasteberry varieties are recommended?
Chasteberry varieties differ mainly in their flower colors, the best known include: Alba (white), Blue Diddley (blue), Latifolia (blue-violet) and White Spire (white). The shrubs vary in height, width and flowering time, suitable for different garden sizes and requirements.
Alba
Blue flowers are typical of wild-growing chasteberry varieties. These colors are also predominantly cultivated in the garden. If you want to deviate from this and are looking for an innocent white, you are on the right track with Alba. This flower color makes the shrub appear elegant and can also be combined well with neighboring plants of different colors, e.g. B. with purple lavender.

Blue Diddley

Tip
If you cultivate the monk's pepper in a pot, it requires more care from you than an outdoor specimen. In winter, the shrub, which is hardy in itself, has to spend the winter indoors frost-free because it is more sensitive in a pot.

In a sunny location, the monk's pepper latifolia transforms your garden into a blue-violet sea of flowers in the truest sense of the word. Because this shrub grows to enormous size over the years.
