As diverse as the species of viburnum are, the flowering times are just as varied. In this genus of plants you will find both shrubs that bloom in spring and those that show off their flowers in winter.
When does the snowball bloom?
The flowering period of the viburnum varies depending on the species: Japanese viburnum blooms from May, wrinkled viburnum from May to June, common viburnum from May to August, scented viburnum from October to March or April, winter or Bodnant viburnum from November and laurel viburnum from November to April.
With a clever selection of your plants, you can enjoy a greater or lesser abundance of flowers practically all year round. The snowball can be easily combined with other shrubs to form a privacy or bird protection hedge. The fruits serve as winter food for many bird species.

- Japanese snowball: from May
- Wrinkled-leaved Viburnum: May and June
- Common Viburnum: May to August

Tip
In a protected, sunny location, the scented viburnum shows its delicate pink flowers throughout the winter from October onwards and shines in all its splendor in spring.
