Gemswurz, also called Gämswurz or Gamswurz, looks very good in every spring bed. The golden yellow flowers appear as early as April. Gemswurz prefers to grow in partial shade, but also tolerates a sunny location well.
Which is the right location for Gemswurz?
The ideal location for gemswurz is partially shaded to sunny, with permeable, not too nutrient-rich, limestone and clay soil. Waterlogging should definitely be avoided. A planting distance of 30-40 cm is recommended for optimal effect as a ground cover.
The right location for gemswurz
- Partly shaded to sunny
- not too nutrient-rich soil
- I like limestone and clayey soil
- no waterlogging
Basically, you can care for gemswurz wherever the soil is permeable and not too nutrient-rich. Gemswurz thrives particularly well in a partially shaded location, for example under trees.
Waterlogging must be avoided at all costs. The plant roots then rot and the plant dies.
The clumps of the non-poisonous plant grow larger over the years. They should therefore be divided every three to four years.
Tip
Gemwort works best when you plant the plant in groups. They make a good ground cover during spring. The planting distance should be between 30 and 40 centimeters.
