The Dipladenia is not frost hardy and should be moved to a bright winter quarters in good time in autumn. The dark basement is just as unsuitable as a well-heated living room. Ideally the temperature is between 9 °C and 15 °C.
Can you let a Dipladenia overwinter outside?
The Dipladenia cannot overwinter outside because it is sensitive to frost. Ideally, the plant should be kept at 9 °C to 15 °C in a bright room without direct sunlight, watered moderately and not fertilized. A slow adjustment in spring is recommended.
Avoid locations with direct sunlight. While you overwinter the Dipladenia, you should only water the plant moderately and not fertilize it. You won't start doing this again until spring, when you've got your Dipladenia used to the fresh air again.
