Methods for Growing Rosewood Trees
A rosewood tree is easiest to grow from seeds. However, you have to buy the seeds because the tree usually does not bloom and therefore no seeds form.
Growing rosewood from cuttings that you can cut from an existing plant is a little more complicated but also possible.

- planting
The best time to grow new rosewood trees is early spring in February or March. Prepare a growing container that you fill with potting soil or, even better, with coconut fiber (€16.00 on Amazon).
After sowing, it only takes one to two weeks for the seeds to germinate. As soon as the plants are large enough, prick them out.
Later, the young rosewood trees are placed in individual pots and cared for like adult plants.
Propagate rosewood trees through cuttings
Growing from cuttings is not that easy, but it works quite often. You need pieces of shoots about 10 to 15 centimeters long that have at least three pairs of leaves. The shoots must not be woody.
Prepare growing pots with growing soil and plant the cuttings. Keep the substrate moist but not too wet. It is helpful if you put a transparent plastic bag over the pots. Then the cuttings cannot dry out. Ventilate the bag regularly to prevent mold from forming.
In a bright, warm but not full sun place, roots will develop within a few weeks.
Tip
The rosewood tree tolerates pruning very well. However, you should not cut it in the first few years. Only when growing as a bonsai do you have to attack it earlier with scissors.
