There are different varieties and species of the tulip tree that come from different regions of the world. Accordingly, their appearance and size as well as the time of their flowering vary. However, they are all impressive.
When is the flowering time of the different types of tulip trees?
The flowering time of different tulip trees varies: African tulip trees can bloom all year round, American tulip trees usually bloom between April and June, and tulip magnolias bloom in April and May.
The tulip tree (bot. Liriodendron tulipifera) comes from eastern North America and is widespread there. It blooms from April to June, depending on the region and the weather.
The tulip magnolia (bot. Magnolia x soulangeana) is also often colloquially called the tulip tree, but is only broadly related to it. It comes from China and blooms in April and May. The African tulip tree belongs to a completely different genus, is kept here as a houseplant and blooms almost all year round.
