There are more or less shady areas in every garden. Greening these can sometimes be very difficult - after all, most plants naturally strive for light and suffer when it is too dark. A spot in light partial shade, on the other hand, is no problem at all for most trees.
Which tree thrives in partial shade?
Almost all trees can thrive in light partial shade, as long as the location allows at least four hours of daily sunlight and the soil is suitable. For light shade, the selection of trees is more limited.

The gardener speaks of partial shade when the location is exposed to full sun for at least four hours a day - no matter what time of day - and is otherwise in (light) shade. On the other hand, it is a light shaded area if there is no direct sunlight there, but there is scattered light from taller trees. Full shade, on the other hand, is always problematic because photosynthesis, which is vital for plants, is not possible here or is only possible with difficulty. You can plant almost all trees in (light) partial shade, but the selection for light shade is much smaller.
Tip
When choosing a location, you should pay attention not only to the amount of light, but also to the composition of the soil. For example, not every tree can tolerate clay soil.
