How should daffodils be watered correctly?
When watering daffodils, low-lime water should be used, especially for potted daffodils with fertilizer in the water. They need more water when they are flowering, even several times a day in hot weather. Waterlogging should be avoided.
When does it become necessary to water daffodils?
Normally you don't necessarily have to water daffodils in the garden, provided they were planted in loamy soil and there are no dry seasons. In contrast, daffodils in pots should be regularly supplied with water.
Please note the following when watering:
- use low-lime water
- for potted daffodils: add fertilizer to the water right away
- Higher water requirements during flowering period
- water well when planting
- water several times a day when it is hot
- Keep soil moist
- sensitive to waterlogging
Tips & Tricks
If the substrate has dried out, you should water several times in a row. Otherwise, the water immediately flows through the dried soil into deeper layers. Repeated watering can cause the soil to become saturated with water.
