How do you grow flower bulbs in wax?
To grow flower bulbs in wax, you need thick, suitable bulbs such as hyacinths or amaryllis. Dip the cleaned onion without greens, soaked for twelve hours, several times in melted wax until the desired layer thickness is achieved. Allow the wax to dry and set the bulb up to bloom.

Suitable flower bulbs
Thick flower bulbs store plenty of nutrients and water. They are therefore ideal for growing. The largest bulbs among the spring bloomers are the hyacinths and the amaryllis. But smaller specimens can also be dipped in wax.
Tip
Because the amaryllis shoots high and produces a large, heavy flower, it can easily tip over and break if left on its own. Place the waxed flower bulb in a tall glass container or somewhere that it can hold onto something.
Suitable wax
The flower bulb doesn't care what wax it is covered in.

Since the wax has to be melted, even old candle residues can be used. Different candles can also be mixed together, as long as you like the new tone. Only the wicks need to be removed beforehand.
Instructions
- Take the flower bulb out of the pot and remove any remaining soil from it.
- Place the bulb in water overnight. It should be completely covered by it, but not the green - if it has already sprouted something.
- Take the flower bulb out of the water and let it dry.
- Melt the wax in a water bath. Clean glasses with a wide opening are ideal for this.
- Take the glass out of the water bath as soon as the wax has liquefied. It must not get too hot so that the onion is not damaged.
- Dip the entire flower bulb (without the green) into the wax. Only the place where it will sprout must remain free.
- Let the wax layer dry and repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result.
Note:After growing, you can neither water nor fertilize the flower bulb. That's not necessary either. You can immediately move on to admiring.
