Sansevierias - which are also known by the common name 'bow hemp' or 'mother-in-law's tongue', are available in many different versions. Some cultivars have broad, marbled leaves, while others are round and solid green. Some varieties can grow up to 150 centimeters high, while others remain surprisingly small. What they all have in common, however, is that their growth is quite slow.
How fast does bow hemp grow?
Bow hemp grows quite slowly, but can be accelerated by optimal conditions such as sufficient fertilization, large pots and lots of light. Growth speed varies depending on variety and conditions.

The arched hemp is one of the more sedately growing houseplants: it can take several years to decades for a small cutting to become an impressive specimen over a meter high (and correspondingly wide!). However, you can accelerate the growth of the plant by having a good supply of fertilizers (€8.00 on Amazon), sufficiently large pots - the growth of the rhizomes and thus the growth in width is only limited by the size of the planter - and plenty Light ensures the best conditions.
Tip
In summer the plant feels very comfortable in a warm and bright spot on the balcony or terrace.
