What to do if the leaves on the Kentia palm are yellow?

Yellow leaves on the Kentia palm usually indicate pests such as spider mites or scale insects. Cut off affected leaves, rinse the palm with lukewarm water and ensure higher humidity to prevent pest infestation.

Yellow leaves are a sign of spider mites and scale insects

If yellow leaves appear on the Kentia palm, examine the leaves closely. Scale insects appear on bulges on the leaves. Spider mites are not visible to the naked eye. Spray the fronds with water. If there are small webs in the leaf axils, the Kentia palm is infested with spider mites.

You can cut off the yellow leaves so that a residue of three to four centimeters remains on the trunk.

Shower the palm tree with lukewarm water to wash off the pests. Maintain higher humidity in the room to prevent yellow leaves caused by pest infestation.

Tip

The Kentia palm is one of the non-toxic houseplants. It is therefore also ideal if there are children and pets such as cats in the household.
