The most beautiful feature of the passiflora: its flowers
If you are looking for a special ornamental plant, the passion flower with its beautiful flowers that can be up to 18 centimeters large, depending on the variety, is just the thing for you. Passion flowers come in many colors, with blue and red flowering types being particularly popular. The flowers have a striking halo surrounded by ten bracts in a ring. In the middle the five stamens and three stigmas protrude like columns. The individual flower usually only shows its splendor for one or two days before it fades - but the plant usually develops a lot of flowers that it shows over several months. With a little luck, fruits (inedible in most species) will develop that contain seeds.
