How do you grow men's faithfulness from seeds?
To grow Men's Faith from seeds, you need a germination temperature of 16-18 ° C, uniform humidity and little soil cover, as it is a light germinator. The germination time is 1-2 weeks. Prick out the seedlings and plant them outdoors after the ice saints.
Where do you get the seeds from?
In specialist shops you can get a large selection of seeds for men, now even different colored versions. However, Mannestreu originally blooms bright blue, which is why it is also called blue lobelia. You also have the choice between a compact or hanging growth habit. However, the seeds of your own plants cannot always be sown successfully because they are self-sterile.
How do you sow men's loy alty?
Männertreu is not only easy to care for, it also germinates quite easily. To do this, however, it needs a temperature of at least 15 °C and uniform humidity. Mannestreu is one of the light germinators, which is why the seeds should only be covered with a little soil. When sowing in a pot, it is enough to press the seeds down a little.
The germination time is about one to two weeks. During this time, always keep the seeds moist and the temperature as constant as possible. A germination temperature of 16 – 18 °C is ideal. Prick out the small plants so that they can grow strong. Only from mid-May, when the ice saints are over, are the young plants allowed to stay outside overnight because they are very sensitive to frost.
In the open field, men's faithfulness should only be sown after the Ice Saints. However, these plants will only start flowering later. The actual flowering period of the blue lobelia begins in June, when the plants sown outdoors are not yet large enough. For this reason, we recommend sowing indoors or in a heated greenhouse if you prefer early-flowering male faithful.
