As with all magnolias, the tulip magnolia (Magnolia soulangeana) grows very slowly. However, the primeval-looking tree can grow to very considerable dimensions as it ages, which is why this type of magnolia is not suitable for small gardens or narrow locations - especially since magnolias cannot be limited in their growth by vigorous pruning, as these trees are very sensitive to cutting.
How fast does a tulip magnolia grow per year?
