In May, inconspicuous secondary branches grow out of the stalks of the groundweed. The flowers will soon appear there. They closely resemble the flowers of the wild carrot, cow parsley and beavers. Therefore, you should take a closer look to be able to identify them with certainty!
When and what does the Giersch flower look like?
The Giersch flower appears from May to July, sometimes until September, in the form of flat, white umbel inflorescences. The flowers are tiny, hermaphrodite, fivefold, with obverse heart-shaped petals and yellow pollen. A close look at leaves and flowers helps with identification.
Flowering time and external characteristics of the flowers
The gourd flowers are piled up above the leaves. They usually emerge from May onwards. The flowering period then lasts until July - rarely until September.
The edible and sweet-tasting flowers of groundweed have these characteristics:

It is difficult to determine the goutweed with certainty based on its flowers alone. In addition, always look at the leaves to avoid confusion!
