In midsummer, when it is very dry, it is better not to plant the ornamental grass outdoors. The perennial likes it dry, but it shouldn't dry out completely. If necessary, you need to water sufficiently.
Dividing pampas grass in spring
If you want to increase your pampas grass, the best time is spring. Cut down the ornamental grass and expose the rhizome.
Use the spade to cut off parts of the rootstock or divide it into two pieces.
Then plant the root pieces in the desired location in the garden or in a sufficiently large pot.
Provide winter protection in autumn
