To properly position tulips in the vase, first cut the stem straight or diagonally, remove excess leaves and place them in a tall glass vase with cold water. Check and replace the water daily and trim the stem ends if necessary.
First cut - then adjust - here's how it works
Before you put tulips in the water, cut the flower stalk. Thanks to this measure, the pathways are exposed so that water and nutrients can be transported unhindered to the flower. How to do it right:
- Using a sharp, clean knife, cut a small piece off the end of the stem
- Cut straight or diagonally
- First remove any white tissue and then cut a small piece of about 0.5 cm
Afterwards, please remove all unnecessary leaves. One or two copies increase the jewelry value. Leaves that are also on the stem cost the flower too much energy, which is then not available to maintain the flower.
Refill fresh water daily
Tulips in the vase are very thirsty. Therefore, check the water level daily to add fresh water if necessary. Warm water is not suitable for this as it causes the flowers to wilt more quickly. With cold water, the signs of spring stay crisp and fresh for much longer.
Cut if necessary
At the same time, take a look at the stem ends. If there is brown discoloration, you should cut back into the green tissue.

So that your tulips spread a spring atmosphere in the house with their heads held high, they are placed in a slim, tall glass vase. This is where the flowers can lean on as the open flower head gains weight. A lasciviously tilted tulip blossom may appear decorative - but in this position the wilting progresses more quickly.
