A tree friend needs a constantly slightly moist substrate so that it thrives. This does not mean that a philodendron needs to be watered often and abundantly. In fact, water consumption is low. This has the potential for misunderstandings, resulting in waterlogging, which then causes the leaves to yellow. How to act correctly now:
- Unpot the wet root ball and remove all substrate
- Cut off rotten roots with a sharp, disinfected tool
- Potting in dry, acidic substrate over a drainage of potsherds
