How to care for the Astrophytum asterias cactus?
For the successful cultivation of Astrophytum asterias you need a bright location with direct sunlight, regular watering with lime-free water, sparing fertilization and a cool rest period in winter at 7-10 degrees Celsius.

Like all astrophytes, the sea urchin cactus comes from the desert. It therefore needs a lot of light and warmth, but also cooler phases in between.

The Astrophytum asterias takes a break from late autumn to the end of winter. During this time, place it in a bright location with temperatures of seven to ten degrees. The cactus cannot tolerate frost!
In winter, keep the cactus almost completely dry.
Tip
Astrophytum asterias, like many ball cactus species, can only be propagated from seeds. It is important that an evenly warm place is available. It takes several years for the cactus to show flowers for the first time.
