The Haworthia is a succulent plant native to southern Africa, of which there are over 160 different species. Many of them are well suited to care as houseplants. This is how you properly care for the non-toxic Haworthia.

Caring for a Haworthia includes correct watering as needed and avoiding waterlogging, no fertilizing, annual repotting, if necessary propagation through daughter rosettes, fighting pests and a cool, bright winter at 5-15 degrees Celsius.
How do you water Haworthia correctly?
As a succulent, the Haworthia cannot tolerate too much moisture. But it shouldn't be kept dry for too long either. The plant takes a break from July to August. It will not be watered during this time.
From April to June and from September to November, water regularly when the surface of the substrate has dried. In winter, only give enough water to ensure that the root ball does not dry out completely.
It is better to water a Haworthia from below, as no water should get into the rosettes. Excess irrigation water must be poured out immediately.
What should you pay attention to when fertilizing?
Fertilizing is not necessary. Too many nutrients make the leaves soft and more likely to cause damage.
When is it time to repot the Haworthia?

How do you care for the Haworthia in winter?
Some species tolerate very low temperatures. Nevertheless, it is better to overwinter the Haworthia frost-free. However, a location that is too warm is not suitable.
The wintering temperatures are ideally between 5 and 15 degrees. The warmer it is at the location, the more light the Haworthia needs in winter.
Don't keep the succulent too wet in winter so that it doesn't rot.
