If the covering of the garden lounger is damaged, there is a risk that it will tear completely and therefore no longer be usable. Since the covering must meet certain requirements, it is not easy to re-cover the lounger yourself.
How can you re-cover a garden lounger?
To re-cover a garden lounger, carefully remove the old covering and measure the size. Use a durable, tear-resistant, water-repellent and breathable fabric such as solid awning fabric. If necessary, sew the new covering with an industrial sewing machine.

Make your own covering
If you want to re-cover a lounger yourself, you need a durable fabric that must have the following properties:
- tearproof
- air permeable
- water-repellent
Very strong awning fabric can be suitable, but can only be sewn really well with an industrial sewing machine. Inexpensive, lighter awning fabrics are not advisable as they sag very quickly and become saturated with water.

Tip
Check in spring whether the covering of your lounger is still intact. You should also check whether all screws are still tight and the hinges are working. You can then use a few resources to refurbish the lounger.
