How do I plant a willow correctly?
To plant a willow, choose a sunny, detached location with moist, nutrient-rich and loose soil. Plant in autumn or spring with enough space and ensure that the soil is deeply loosened and compost or peat added.

Willows are relatively undemanding and extremely easy to care for. In the wild, they feel most comfortable near water. Do you have a garden pond? Then choosing a location won’t be difficult for you. There are a few things you should still pay attention to:

However, it is possible to cultivate the willow as a hedge, bedding plant or in a container.

Plant your willow either in the fall after the leaves fall or in the spring. If you grow the deciduous tree yourself from cuttings, spring is also recommended as the planting date.
Preparation
- Loose the soil so that the roots do not encounter obstacles later.
- To do this, dig the ground about two meters deep.
- Enrich the soil with compost (€12.00 on Amazon) or peat.
- Dig a planting hole three times the size of the root ball.
Procedure
- Water your willow.
- Then place the tree in the ground.
- Fill the remaining hole with soil and press it lightly.
- If necessary, support the willow with a stake.
- Water the pasture again.
- Mulch the substrate.
