Create space so that the floor or furniture doesn't accidentally get splashed. The drying line with pad should be set up in advance.
1) Mix the color in a bowl with water:The pampas grass should retain its supple, loose structure after dyeing. Therefore, the heavy acrylic paint should first be diluted with water. There are approximately three tablespoons of color per 150 ml. If you want it a little more intense, add an additional spoonful to the mixture. It just shouldn't be too thick. Stir well so that the liquid appears uniform.
2) Paint pampas grass with a brush or draw it through the paint:Either pour the paint into a large, bulbous bowl or grab a brush. The latter turns out to be more complex. It is much quicker to give the flowers a quick bath in the dark liquid. To do this, slowly pull the pom pom through the bowl from the beginning to the tip. If you are still dissatisfied with the coverage, repeat the step and go a little slower for the next flower.
3) Drying on the line (+ tip for the impatient):Hang the painted flower directly on the line to dry. It should not be left wet for long, otherwise the fine flowers will clump together. Now it's time to wait. It can take a day for the pampas grass to dry properly. A hairdryer provides a quick remedy. With distance and very little power, the drying process can be accelerated. But be careful: risk of splashing!
