Which plants can I combine with the Canna?
To optimally combine the canna, choose companion plants with similar location requirements and growth heights. Suitable plants include torch lilies, dahlias, mulleins, gladiolus and pennisetum as well as nasturtiums and geraniums in pots.
What factors should you consider when combining canna?
So that the exotic overall expression of the canna does not suffer and the combination is successful, you should consider the following factors:
- Flower color: yellow, orange, pink or red
- Flowering time: June to October
- Location requirements: sunny, loose and nutrient-rich soil
- Growth height: up to 200 cm
When planting and combining your canna, think about the size it can reach. You should therefore not place smaller plants behind the canna. Otherwise these would be covered by it and visually disappear.
As a true sun worshiper, the Canna needs a location where it can benefit from plenty of light and warmth. It should therefore not be planted together with shade plants.
