The bathroom is not a typical area for fruit flies. Because these pests reside primarily where there are ripe or fermenting fruits. And yet you can trust your eyes when they see small flies in the bathroom. How can that be?
Where do fruit flies in the bathroom come from?

How do I get rid of fruit flies in the bathroom?

But maybe you drank a glass of juice while bathing and left the glass standing or spilled a few sweet drops on the floor. Remove any residue discovered and wipe off sweet and proteinaceous stains. How do I know if they are fungus gnats or abortion flies?
If there is nothing in the bathroom that can attract fruit flies, there is a high probability that there is an infestation with fungus gnats (Sciaridae) or abortion flies (Psychoda grisescens). This is how you can recognize or differentiate between the two types:
- If there are plants in the bathroom, it could be fungus gnats
- they feed on parts of plants
- lay their eggs in potting soil
- Sad gnats are slender and 1-7 mm in size
- have dark to black wings
- Abort flies are attracted to the smell of feces and urine
- populate toilets, drains and siphons
- lay their eggs close to sources of smell
- have rounded and very hairy wings
- fly badly and clumsily
How can I fight fungus gnats and litter flies in the bathroom?

Fruit flies are harmless to humans, although annoying. Nobody has to be afraid of fungus gnats and abortion flies because they don't bite. However, you should fight small flies in the bathroom promptly and effectively so that they do not continue to multiply. Toilet flies are also very unhygienic.
