How do I properly care for sedges in the garden?
Caring for sedges requires little watering, infrequent fertilization and no regular pruning. Look out for brown leaves as a sign of lack of water, use compost or liquid fertilizer and carefully remove wilted plant parts using gloves.
Do sedges need to be watered?
If sedges have grown properly outdoors, they do not need to be watered except in dry times. Only sedges that are grown in pots should be regularly supplied with water. A lack of water can be recognized by brown leaves on sedges.
Also remember to water wintergreen varieties. This is often forgotten and the plants die not due to cold, but due to dried roots and plant parts. Keep the soil slightly moist by watering moderately with lime-free water.

Are there pests that can be dangerous to you?
If the sedge is fertilized too much and too often, it becomes more susceptible to pests. Among other things, aphids and spider mites can cause problems for her. The aphids primarily attack the stems. When are sedges repotted?
