It is known for its juicy green color. But if they suddenly turn yellow, something seems wrong. What can be behind it if the radiant aralia gets yellow leaves?
Why does my Schefflera have yellow leaves?
Yellow leaves on a Schefflera can indicate a lack of nutrients, pest infestation, too much direct sunlight, a location that is too dark or root rot (soil that is too wet). Review and optimize location and care to resolve the issue.
Wrong location or incorrect care
Yellow leaves on the Schefflera can arise from:
- current nutrient deficiency
- Pest infestation (e.g. spider mites, aphids)
- too much direct sunlight
- to dark location
- Root rot (too wet soil)
Drop or cut off
When the leaves have turned completely yellow, they will soon be dropped. Alternatively, you can cut them off beforehand if the image bothers you. However, to avoid not all leaves turning yellow, you should reconsider the location and care!
Tip
Yellow leaves are not always a bad sign. There are also Schefflera varieties that have yellow-shaded or variegated leaves.
