A golden fruit palm needs daily watering in summer with water that is not too cold, low in lime or rainwater. In winter the root ball should always be slightly moist. It is important to avoid waterlogging in order to prevent diseases and discoloration.

In summer, the Areca palm needs daily watering. The warmer it is, the more often you need to water as thoroughly as possible. In winter, reduce the amount of water so that the root ball is always slightly moist.
You must definitely avoid waterlogging, as the palm tree will then become sick or the leaves will change color.
Always pour off excess water straight away. Place the Areca palm outside without a saucer or planter so that rainwater or irrigation water can drain away.
Tip
Gold fruit palms are a bit demanding when it comes to irrigation water. Rainwater that is not too cold is best suited. Alternatively, you can also water with stale, low-lime tap water.
