The angel's trumpet is one of the ornamental plants that cannot be kept in permanent outdoor cultivation in our latitudes. The location question is therefore not only an important one, but also a somewhat more complicated one.
Which location is ideal for an angel trumpet?
The ideal location for an angel's trumpet offers warmth and partial shade in the summer months, with protection from extreme heat and frost. In winter it can be placed in a light or dark place at temperatures of 10-20°C and may bloom again.
The feel-good conditions of the angel trumpet
As with all plants, the environmental conditions under which the angel's trumpet feels comfortable can be determined from its origin. In this genus it is subtropical South America. In general, the angel's trumpet needs warmth, protection from frost and a lot of light when it comes to location.
Location Ground Rules:
- Warmth, protection from frost
- quite a lot of light
Location in summer
If you want to present your angel trumpet in the garden or on the terrace during the main summer vegetation phase, you should not offer it a place in full sun, but rather a place in partial shade. Because it doesn't tolerate too much heat, especially in container culture, where its immense thirst can quickly become life-threatening.
Location in winter
In winter you can make the angel trumpet either light or dark. The former should also be associated with slightly higher temperatures, around 10 to 20°C. Then some varieties can even bloom again.
