How to crochet a flower pot cover?
To crochet a flower pot, you need yarn, a suitable crochet hook and instructions. Start with the bottom by casting on chain stitches and crocheting in the round. Then crochet the cover up and adjust it to the shape of the pot. Finish with a decorative trim.

Crochet pattern
For the bottom, cast on 6 chain stitches (ch) and close them with a slip stitch (sl st) to form a ring.
- Now crochet two single crochet stitches (dc) in each ch so that the ring now consists of 12 stitches (st). Finish the row with a sl st to the first dc.
- Crochet 1 dc alternately, then 2 dc in the following st, 18 sts in total.
- Row 3: Work one dc continuously, then 2 dc in the next st, then again 2 separate dc, at the end 1 dc, 24 sts in total.
- Round 5: 2 sc, then 2 sc in the next stitch, 4 sc, end with 2 sc, 36 sts in total
- Round 6: 5 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, 42 sts total
- Round 7: 3 dc, then 2 dc in the next stitch, end of row 6 dc, 48 sts in total
- Round 8: 7 sc continuously, then 2 sc in next stitch, 54 sts in total
The bottom can be made larger with further increases. Now work upwards. If it is a straight pot, there are no increases. Now you always stitch into the back loop and work in the round until the required height is reached.
If the flower pot is tapered, increases are necessary. In round 1 there are 2 dc in every 9th st. In round 2, add 2 dc to every 10th st, etc. Crochet like this until you reach the edge of the pot. At the end you can crochet a pretty border.
