Golliwoog is a brand name for Creeping Beautiful Cushion. It is grown organically, without the use of pesticides, so that it can later be fed to pets. Even at home, it needs care that keeps it he althy and at the same time does not reduce its ability to feed.
How do you properly care for Golliwoog?
Golliwoog care includes a bright location with indirect light, temperatures of 20-25°C, high humidity, regular watering without waterlogging, occasional fertilizing with organic slow-release fertilizers, weekly spraying with water and, if necessary, cutting and repotting.
Location and Earth
A Golliwoog prefers bright locations with indirect light. Uniform temperatures of 20 to 25 °C are advantageous. The humidity should be as high as possible. Although the plant can stay indoors all year round, it can also spend the summer outdoors. As a forage plant, Golliwoog should be planted in one of the following substrates:
- Cactus soil
- Herbal clay
- growing soil
Tip
If the leaves turn pale yellow, Golliwoog is receiving too much sunlight. However, if the leaves are completely purple, the plant is too dark.
Fertilize
Golliwoog doesn't need too many nutrients. If you want to support growth with fertilizer, you should use organic long-term fertilizers (€12.00 on Amazon). These only release their nutrients slowly. Fertilization takes place between April and September. Golliwoog as a purely ornamental plant can also be supplied with a commercial liquid fertilizer every 14 days.
Pouring
The soil must be kept constantly moist without being too wet. The plant has fleshy leaves in which it can store water well. That's why it can survive occasional watering breaks. That's better than putting her through waterlogging.

Cutting
Cutting is not part of the mandatory care program. The plant also grows so persistently and keeps sprouting again and again. If she becomes bald as she gets older, a radical rejuvenation cut is pointless. In this case, you should propagate Golliwoog through cuttings to obtain young, vigorous plants.
Reaching for scissors is still the order of the day when the shoots are cut off for food. Use clean scissors for this.
Repotting
Golliwoog should be repotted immediately after purchase, because the plant loves freedom from roots, which it rarely gets in sales pots. After two years it can be repotted again. The pot should be at least 20 cm in diameter. Then Golliwoog can grow so well that something can be cut off every week.
