How to grow a silk tree yourself?
To grow a silk tree (sleeping tree) from seeds, you should let the seeds pre-swell, place them in cultivation pots, cover them with soil, keep them moist and place them at at least 25 degrees. When they reach a height of 15-20 cm, transplant them into larger pots before putting them outdoors.
Growing the sleeping tree from seeds
The sleeping tree can be grown from seeds. However, cultivation takes quite a long time. The sleeping tree does not bloom in the first few years either. To do this, it must be several years old and tall enough.

How to get seeds for the silk tree
If your sleeping tree is already bearing flowers, you can harvest seeds yourself to grow new trees. The flowers develop into fruiting bodies up to 15 centimeters long in which the seeds ripen.
As soon as the seeds are brown, pick them off and let them dry well until sowing.
Attention: The fruiting bodies and seeds of the silk acacia are poisonous. They must be kept out of the reach of children.

Planting out a sleeping tree
As soon as the young silk trees have reached a height of 15 to 20 centimeters, repot them into pots with normal potting soil.
Keep the substrate evenly moist, but definitely not too wet.
Take care of a newly grown silk acacia in a pot for the first few years as it is not hardy. After several years you can also plant them outdoors if you initially provide them with good protection from frost before winter.
Tip
The flowering time of the sleeping tree falls in summer. New flowers with a delicate scent will form over several weeks.
