Where should you plant daffodils for optimal growth?
The ideal location for daffodils is sunny to partially shaded with permeable, loamy and slightly moist soil that is slightly acidic to neutral and has medium to high nutrient content. Protection from wind for tall daffodil species is recommended.
Daffodils are children of the sun
In order to sprout early in the year and produce colorful flowers, daffodils need a sunny location. They also feel comfortable in partial shade. They should not be planted in the shade as they will become lazy when flowering.
What should the surface be like?
Daffodils don't need any special soil. But they are grateful for a medium to high nutrient content. It is therefore advisable to add some compost (€10.00 on Amazon) to the soil when planting the bulbs. Other beneficial characteristics of the earth:
