The flower structure of panicle hydrangeas (botanically Hydrangea paniculata) is very different from all other species. Here the flowers are arranged in elongated panicles, similar to perennial phlox.
When do panicle hydrangeas bloom?
The flowering time of panicle hydrangeas varies depending on the variety. The earliest variety, 'Dharuma', blooms from May to June, while other varieties such as 'Limelight', 'Kyushu' or 'Vanille Fraise' bloom mainly from July to September. Some varieties even bloom until October.
Average flowering time of the different varieties
The different varieties of panicle hydrangea bloom quite differently, many even from August onwards. However, there is an early-blooming exception: the dwarf hydrangea “Dharuma” shows its creamy white flowers in May and June.
