The flowering period of purple bells depends on the variety and usually varies between May and September. Flowering often begins in May and lasts until July, some varieties bloom until September. The flowers appear in panicles with small bells in red, white or pink.

There are numerous different varieties of purple bells. These bloom at different times. Most purple bells go into bloom in May. Then they bloom until July. The purple bell, for example, blooms between June and July.
But some varieties can also bloom until September. In addition, in mild locations or after mild winters, the flowering period can begin as early as April. This is how you recognize the flowers:
- on 30 to 50 cm long stems
- upright
- in panicles
- lots of small flower bells
- colored red, white or pink

As soon as the flowering period ends, you should cut off the old inflorescences directly above the ground!
