When is the ideal time to transplant hollyhocks?

Find the right location
Hollyhocks also thrive in partial shade, but they prefer a location in full sun. There they are also better protected from the dreaded mallow rust and other diseases. By the way, some varieties are naturally more resistant than others. The hollyhock also does very well in a permeable and relatively nutrient-rich soil. You can easily loosen it up with some gravel or coarse sand and supply any missing nutrients with regular fertilization.
