Only a few carnivorous plants are hardy, such as the sundew. Species such as the Venus flytrap and pitcher plant cannot tolerate sub-zero temperatures. They must be kept indoors over the winter.

To overwinter carnivorous plants properly, place them in a bright location at 10-15°C. Avoid direct proximity to radiators and water less, but never let the root balls dry out. Pitcher plants can stay in the same location all year round.
Carnivores overwinter in the house
How you properly overwinter carnivorous plants depends on the species. Most varieties want to be very bright in winter, but cannot tolerate such high temperatures.
The ambient temperatures for such species should be between 10 and 15 degrees. Do not place the pots directly above radiators as the humidity is too low.
We water less in winter. But make sure that the root balls never dry out completely.
Cultivate pitcher plants
Nepenthes or pitcher plants are an exception because they can be in the same location all year round. But they can also tolerate it when the temperatures are slightly lower in winter.
Tip
When you take your carnivorous plants out of their winter quarters in spring, slowly acclimate them to the higher temperatures. Frequent changes of location also produce the fewest varieties.
