The money tree is a succulent. It stores moisture in the leaves. You shouldn't water the easy-care money tree too often because it won't get waterlogged. Tips for properly watering money trees.
How should you water a money tree?
When watering a money tree, the following applies: water sparingly and avoid waterlogging. Only water when the substrate surface is completely dry and pour off excess water after 15 minutes at the latest. Ideally use rainwater or low-lime tap water.
Water the money tree sparingly
A money tree should never be too wet, but of course it should not dry out completely either. The root ball should always be moderately moist inside. If the roots are left in water for a long time, they begin to rot and the plant dies.
Do not water until the surface of the substrate is completely dry.
Don't water too much. Any excess water that collects in the saucer should be poured off after 15 minutes at the latest to prevent waterlogging. Outdoor money trees should not be placed on saucers so that rainwater can run off immediately.
Tip
The money tree does best if you water it with rainwater. But it can also cope with normal tap water if it is not too hard.
