How do I create a rose bed correctly?
To create a rose bed, choose a sunny location, loose, nutrient-rich soil and plant roses in autumn or spring. Combine roses with companion plants such as lavender, delphiniums or ornamental grasses. Prepare the soil, arrange the plants, plant them, mulch the bed and water thoroughly.
The right location for the rose bed
Most rose varieties thrive best in the sun. If you only have a shade bed available, you should ask specialist retailers about shade-tolerant species. Roses like loose, nutrient-rich soil and need regular water.
When to plant the rose garden
Roses are usually planted in fall or spring. It is more advisable to plant in autumn, as the roses have time to grow well over the winter and sprout with all their might in spring. You can even plant your rose garden in winter on frost-free days.
Combine the roses well
Roses alone look beautiful. But they look even prettier with companion plants. The combination with lavender is particularly popular. This not only looks beautiful, but also keeps lice away from the roses. But other perennials and grasses can also be considered as companion plants.

If the rose bed is large enough, it is worth combining the roses with various companion plants. Before planting, think about what color combination you want. A rose bed should not be too colorful. Red or pink roses with blue or violet companion plants or pink and white beds are popular.
Here is an example planting plan for a round rose bed:

Creating the rose bed step by step
This is what you need:

1. Preparing the soil
