If you have a young bluebell tree, you will need a little patience until you can admire the first blossoms. It only blooms when it is around six to ten years old on panicles up to 40 centimeters long.
When does the bluebell tree bloom?
The bluebell tree (Paulownia) blooms for the first time between the ages of 6 and 10, usually from April to the end of May. The blue or blue-violet, pink and white flowers appear on panicles up to 40 cm long. However, they are vulnerable to frost and should be cut carefully.
Your Paulownia sets its buds in autumn, so you should be careful when pruning or cut before the buds form. Although at least the older bluebell tree is hardy, the flower heads are at risk from harsh winters or late frosts.

- Flower color: usually blue or blue-violet, also possible: pink or white

Tip
Prune your paulownia relatively late in the year, then pay attention to the bud setting for next year. If you cut too radically, your tree will not bloom or will only bloom sparsely.
