If you want to limit the growth of a birch tree on the balcony, in your home as a bonsai or even in a narrow garden, you can professionally cut back the original shoot when growing it. The initial growth is particularly rapid. However, if you want to keep a small birch tree that grows in a pot, it is helpful not to choose a container that is too large. The less the roots can spread, the more subdued the tree will grow. However, never deprive yourself of light or water, otherwise the birch will not grow any slower but will simply die.
